Hi next month I will spend a whole afternoon inside Miami airport due to a connection flight. Are there any possibilities to use this spare time to make some spotting or Miami is not that spotter friendly? If so, which place would be better (inside terminal)? Thanks!

MIA is great. If you have time, i would rent a car. The airport is easy to navigate because if the pereimeter road and the spotting areas are list3 in the post above. Totally worth it regardless of weather.

Looking forward to see what you get!

Best,

Ken

Thank you both Jetzguy and Ken regarding these valuable tips. I really appreciate the time you spent to provide me this information.

Some of the websites listed I had already visited them. My first thought was staying inside the terminal and not leave the airport. So I was wondering if it was possible to take pictures trhough the windows (I will stay at North terminal, "D" gates) and if the airport authorithies would mind about that.

I was not planning to take with me my best gear (the longer and heavier lens), but maybe I now reconsider all that. Thanks again and best regards,

Ricardo.

The American terminal faces runways 8 and 9 , not usuallly good for take offs and landings—maybe a few, but you will mostly see AA aircraft parked and taxiing. The sun Weill probably in your face the whole time as well. It is a great shooting airport if u get outside. Lots of good places to shoot. Little security.
