The lack of contrast is likely between the top of the aircraft and the sky. There is little to make them stand out as they kind of blend together. hope that helps.

It just means the photo is not diverse enough ;)

On a serious note though, try using ProContrast and/or Tonal Contrast filter in Nik Collection, Color Efex Pro.
