A contender at Roskilde

On August 17th 2013 the newly appointed Danish minister for defence, Nicolai Vammen, opened Roskilde Airshow. In his opening he revealed his boy-hood dream of becoming F-16 pilot. More important to the future of Danish military aviation he told, that he in the next couple of months would prepare the political decision on which aircraft to replace F-16 in the Danish Air Force. All the four contenders were present at Roskilde Air Show. They are Eurofighter, F-35 Lightning II, Gripen and Super Hornet.

Cimber arise from the ashes

After the bankrupcy of Cimber-Sterling May 3rd 2012 part of the company has May 16th been transformed into a new company Cimber A/S (Ltd). Operations have begun with some CRJs and ATRs of the original Cimber Air. The company mainly serves Danish domestic airports and a few European destinations in cooperation with SAS. The planes have been roughly redecorated - mainly by removing the names of the former owner and the original Viking helmets.
