The only original Focke-Wulf 190 in flying condition in the entire world is being reassembled at its new home at Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection in Everett, Washington. On its second day of work, the crew has attached the propeller, spinner, horizontal stabilizer, elevator, and other components. In this photograph, the mechanics had just finished jacking the aircraft up in preparation for gear swing tests. Unfortunately we were kindly asked to leave as business hours had come to an end for the day.
Saturday, April 23rd the museum will have a grand unveiling event. Later this Summer, (June 18th) the museum will have a flying debut of the FW-190 A5 for a crowd at Paine Field.
Living only a couple of minutes from this field, it has been really amazing to be able and see this aircraft in person, and watch the progress of its reassembly. |
