Author's remark: | Major Chris Kreske’s and Captain Bryant Roberts’ Strike Eagle from RAF Lakenheath makes dramatic progress through the Bwlch Oerddrws. They are from the 492nd Fighter Squadron (‘Mad Hatters’), part of the 48th Fighter Wing, a unit with a long and distinguished history in the UK, having operated from Lakenheath since 1960 with Super Sabres, Phantoms and F-111s before taking on the mighty F-15 in 1992. |
