MM62012 Alitalia buys in 2007 the aircraft from Boeing, which in turn had received it from the air force. Placed in a hangar is intended for the maintenance of the Society school for the training of its technicians. In 2010 the fleet is renewed and Alitalia decided to give the school a more modern device, and therefore more suitable for training. The DC9 is replaced and Alitalia, not wanting to dismantle and keeps it in Fiumicino. Between 2013 and 2015, three different subjects (a museum, a business and a training institute) show interest, but in the end, for various reasons related also to the complexity of transport operations, desist from the project. The plane remains so in Alitalia availability trying to keep it by placing it in a square in front of the hangar number 5. Where will remain for a little ahead of his final transfer to Volandia Museum (font Alitalia) During assembly preserved in @Volandia Museum
